SpectraWave Support

SpectraWave is available now on iPhone, with an Android version coming soon to Google Play. Questions, ideas, or trouble? Email info@bdsalesinc.ca and we will get back to you.

Is SpectraWave real?

SpectraWave is for entertainment only. It records real audio from your microphone and lets you replay it with on-device effects (slow, reverse, and a clarity filter). It does not detect or prove paranormal activity, it does not add any voices that were not in the room, and it never uploads your audio on either platform. The scrolling word overlay you see while recording is cosmetic on-screen ambience only: it is never mixed into the clip and never generated from what the microphone hears. Results are not evidence of paranormal activity.

The app is not recording

SpectraWave needs permission to use the microphone. On iPhone, open the iOS Settings app, find SpectraWave, and turn Microphone on. On Android, open Settings > Apps > SpectraWave > Permissions, and allow Microphone. Then tap the record button again.

I do not hear my recording on playback

Check that your phone is not in silent mode and that the volume is up. Playback uses the normal media volume. The slow, reverse, and clarity effects are Pro features; the normal-speed playback is always available.

What is free, and what is Pro?

Free forever: recording from the microphone, saving your clips, and normal-speed playback, with a small library and one marker per clip. SpectraWave Pro is a single one-time purchase (no subscription, on either platform) that unlocks unlimited clips and length, the slow, reverse, and clarity playback effects, unlimited markers and notes, clip and transcript export, and background recording with an ongoing notification. On iPhone, Pro also adds the Action Button, the Live Activity, and the Apple Watch remote; those three are iPhone-only and are not part of the Android release.

Recording in the background (Android)

With Pro, you can leave the app while recording and it keeps going. Android shows an ongoing notification with the elapsed time and marker count the whole time the microphone is active; tap Stop on the notification, or reopen the app and stop there, to end it.

The Android widget

SpectraWave's optional Home Screen widget on Android shows your clip count and whether a recording is currently running. It only reads a small file kept on your device and never calls out to the network.

I bought Pro on another device

On iPhone, open the app, go to About, and tap "Restore purchases". On Android, open Settings and tap "Restore purchase"; it re-checks your purchase history with your signed-in Google Play account.

Google Play availability
